Will you be found in Google?

Google have modified the way in which it returns searches to you.
As part of their ongoing process to improve the users experience on the web, they have added extra products.
They have grouped the search options into Web, Images, Videos, Maps, News, Shopping, Gmail, and much more.

Are You Local or Global.

Google have started to change the way they return you searches by adding more focus to Local Searches.

The way they are achieving this is by extending the Local Business Data Base which was part of the Google MAPS Product.
This new incarnation is now called Google Places.

These changes started to appear in the middle of last year.

The new searches try to work out from your Computers Browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc...) where you are searching from.
Google then return either a Local Based Search or Global bases search.

•    A Local Search gives Local websites companies in that local area.
•    A Global Based search gives the top ranked websites (for us usually within the UK or then the World).

The New Local Search

They have taken the Interactive Map and moved it on to the right hand side of the page.

This means that to be on the all important First Page of Google, this now means having the correct information in the database is even more important.
